Nikole Hannah-Jones
2026 Rachel B. Noel Distinguished Visiting Professor
Nikole Hannah-Jones is a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter for The New York Times Magazine and the creator of The 1619 Project. A MacArthur “Genius” Fellow and Knight Chair at Howard University, she has spent her career chronicling the ways official policy maintains segregation in housing and education. Her landmark reporting on civil rights and racial injustice has earned her some of journalism’s highest honors, including a Peabody Award and two George Polk Awards.
